Re: Gemma's Pond
I'm thinking I need to rehome at least 8 koi but I don't feel like draining the pond maybe next year...hopefully I won't find more babies in the meantime

Re: Gemma's Pond
@Gemma I helped a friend up the road to drain her pond and take all the koi out when she needed to fix her bottom drain. We used a seine net to corral them and then a tube net thing to put them in and lift them out easily. Was quite the job! Hope you don't get even more this year!

Re: Gemma's Pond
take some parameter tests; if every one is in the good range, don't worry. Your bog will do a lot toward keeping more fish than you think you can (ask me how I know!)
scenario; Gemma, standing by the pond, hands on hips, biting her lip and looking real agitated and angsty.
second scenario; brokensword standing by the pond, hands on hips, yellin' out to mrsbrokensword; oh lookee, Sweetee; we GOTS FISH! LOTS O'DEM!!
Now, were this an episode of the Twilight Zone, who do YOU think Rod Serling would be talkin' about, hmmm????
heh heh

Sorry I missed this postj.w wrote: ↑Tue Jul 26, 2022 6:54 pm @Gemma I helped a friend up the road to drain her pond and take all the koi out when she needed to fix her bottom drain. That's exactly how I catch my koi @j.w
...catching the fish it's easy, but first I have to drain at least 3' of water and then I have to be in it to reach all sides of the pond and that's the struggle... it takes forever to refill my pond

I'm not looking to rehome fish out of fear of overcrowding, I simply prefer a MUCH smaller fish count than most. I like how calm the fish are at feeding time when the number is low, I can really see their individual traits and so I enjoy them more....and who's Rod Serling?
