Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)

I’m still round just had vacation and then work craziness between another vacation but a staycation week watching the kids this time. Had to get Arnie the auto mower back online and now looking to pond again. Need to plant a corkscrew rush. Funds low for now so going into coast mode to prep non-wate...

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)

Back from vacation and put the pond back together and bridge up. Tucked some edges and laid some draft v1 rock on the sides and what not. Lillies just floating around - just ordered fert tabs and pans to put them in. Iris and creep Jenny were dry when we left as pond was out of commission. Put them ...

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)

The not so good. Left the pond running today while at work. It was 90+ Degrees. Water dropped about 1/2-3/4” which seems high? When it was only partially filled but With water in the channel/not running, the level dropped a bit overnight and some slight dampness under the liner but nothing significa...

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)

The good post Grabbed daddy’s first lily to throw in, but otherwise didn’t get anything. Wasn’t confident on what where and decided to hold off to try and research/think for needless spending. https://i.imgur.com/exfWgtD.jpg Got fabric and some more pea stone to make little plant bags to get stuff g...

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)

That’s a good idea for the separate line that’s just sitting there. Could easily put it in the log I think.

Also woohoo on the go ahead on fabric! :)
To the store!
Hoping for some late season quick finds.

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)

Found a really cool hollow log in the river at the park I hauled home. VDrkbv6rUC4 As far as planting - non lilys - I’m not considering planting directly into the gravel given how entrenched the previous plants were. I’m not really big on the hard pot structures/square mesh containers for ponds (but...

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)

I’m the “get it done” part and big fixes later but wife commented the falls is “f**king amazing.” So there’s that :) Lots of edging to do still. Wanted to just get water in and moving to see if i really messed something up. Water seems to mainly holding. A smudge lower but I marked the sides of the ...

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)

UIBVUBP-GxM Not many changes but decided to fill it up to see how level the water ends up being, depths, and how it looks at first glance. Rocks in the stream just thrown in randomly where bridge goes. Took some measurements after for planting. Seams appearing ok at moment, water level appeared sta...

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)

I do too and glad it’s more than it was when the pond had only the small pee-hole as the start.
Old neighbors moved out of their house yesterday and new ones Sunday. Hope they enjoy it too! :hysterical:

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)

Left pond as is for now to hop over to the bog/falls. Took all the rocks off to go over the liner again. Put some of the rocks in place and not perfect but still better than I’ve been hoping! The right falls is dead in the video and at the end you can see lots is being directed backwards and going t...

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)

Thanks much! :) How well would a felt (underlayment) “bag” work to contain the various plants? Figured I could sew them together to make it container like but not sure if that’s a good idea or not? Contemplated the sissy socks made of screening but feels just sewn underlayment would be a safer less ...

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)

https://i.imgur.com/j2gBXVX.jpg Had to give wife something to look forward to. Took me thiiiiiiis far to get an “ooooooooh now I get it.” https://i.imgur.com/9BVAsEw.jpg No angulars poking into the liner, but had to use them as jigsaws and sliding them under/between the bigger stuff as it all just ...
