Re: some early July bloomers

I have some purple ones and some pink ones, and I should have some white ones. Come to think of it, I'm not sure I've seen those this year. I guess I'd better do a search for them. Things can get lost in the jungle around the pond.

Re: spider lily

The spider lilies are in a large water lily pot planted in sand. They are just sitting on a shelf in the pond. I have no idea how many there are now. I think I ordered 3 plants and received maybe 5. I put those in a smaller pot and stuck it in the pond. It didn't take long before they needed more sp...

Re: spider lily

Thanks. The impatiens are just bare root on the edges of the rocks. They do well there every year.

Re: spider lily

Finally, my spiders lilies are blooming! I knew they were always late, but didn't remember that they were this late. I had given up on them since Brokensword's bloomed so early. Should have had more faith. https://i.imgur.com/qaoPvkK.jpg And a picture of the impatiens in the waterfall: https://i.img...

I'm partial to the shusui pattern, especially the yellow and blue ones.

Beautiful pictures and pond!

Your spider lilies are doing great. I think mine got hit by the last cold snap after we had uncovered the pond and they aren't doing anything. They are usually slower than other plants, but this seems unusually slow.

Love the wisteria, too.

The water is actually orange now? Weird, but kind of pretty.

Re: What eatables are you growing right now that you've never grown before?

When I said to keep the artichoke in a pot, I meant to not plant it in the ground so you could bring it inside over winter. If left outside, it probably won't survive the winter. I'm in 6b and the ones I had planted in the garden didn't make it through the cold. I have fig tress that I planted in th...

That sounds like the perfect spot for it.
