Yep grabbed bigger so I can slowly chisel some parts of it.
Making the purchase.

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)
Found a stone supplier who had the correct thickness and size distressed flagstones so now comes the selection! Made a cardboard cutout to take with me to make sure I have the right dimensions. Here is an example of what it’ll be, about 2 inches lower still though https://i.imgur.com/Y1aJ8IW.jpg htt...

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)
Thought some about plants and placements but haven’t got that far. It’s too far off for me to stress. I have screening and plan to sew some sissy socks by hand to put the plants in between rocks mainly. Trying to avoid any planters.

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)
Haven’t leveled or finished, but looking deep enough with a 5-6” ceiling from pump to rock cover. Going to lower the intake lip a bit more. Trying to imagine the space condensing more with the liner in place and trying to fold it, thus may need to expand outward still a bit. Trying to coax the along...

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)
No fish. Ever. Pipe all in the pond. Measured last year and added rounded up for everything, then added a number of feet each way. That being said, likely don’t have e enough liner to run it down 5 feet and then back up. And I don’t have a desire to dig that. I’m going to drop it a few inches more, ...

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)
Started digging the pump’s hole to China. About 2ft so far. Plan to line it with bricks for wall support. Will have some type of milk crate apparatus to raise it a bit with ceiling room to put stone across the hole area. Stone will rest atop the bricks and be about 3-4” under water still. Going crat...

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)
My life. It’s been a trip. To be honest, was in process of writing a book about it until kids were the first step in lack of time. More stories with time lol. Surprisingly, none of the exotic pet stuff made it….yet.

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)
Went to Florida when I was 11. Took a paddler from the hotel out on a small natural in city pond thing they made. When I noticed something floating 30 yards off with just some part of it breaking the surface. Sure as hell looked like some type of gator. Don’t think they saw someone paddle so fast ba...

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)
Not that I’m gonna ghost as there’s more to learn, but enjoying the finish vs using time to learn/redo it all will be nice. We contemplated hiring someone to do it all for us, but I cringe at what that price would have been.

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)
Definitely could just toss some rocks but I get a perfectionist bug and would end up tearing it apart if it looked wonky. Still miles away until completion so still may look wonky in the end, but will know it’s stable! Ha. I have some visions in my mind but hard to draw them so I can show my exact v...

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)
Wife is encouraging. Likely just wants it done. Showed her the progress as she/kids gone all day. She said it was nice but still has no idea of what the final vision is. Lol

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)
All the fittings are correct. Specifically ordered online from a pvc site lol. It LOOKS the right size for sure, but I think it’s the wall specifically that’s too small. The 1” is snug how it should be. The 1.5 stuff wasn’t even touching (this the thought of 1.25 until I just reordered quality stuff...
