I like to name my fish; got any names for yours? I know the rule; name them and that's the one that gets eaten by the heron, or jumps out, or gets caught in the skimmer, or...or...you get the picture! But, ask lil Queenie--she'll tell you I see it more as guidelines...

I wonder if @j.w has any of hers named...gonna hafta ask!

:sillybearshock:
I don't name my fish but still seems like my favorite ones die. All my shubbies are gone now. Only regular goldfish left :?
I like the different colors but goldfish are still fine fish to have. I'm planning on looking for some shujbunkins this year! I hope you will too!
Not yet for me anyways, still having issues w/fish that are in there now. Hope you find some nice Shubbies for you pond :D

@Robin you should be able to easily find them at your local pet store or if you are lucky enough to have a fish breeding farm near you.

You can find Fantail goldfish also w/the calico type coloring's.

Image

There are many other types of beautiful goldfish also. Just do a google search on breeds of goldfish.

I really like that first shubbie; very unique! I' push 'place bid' on that if it ever came up for auction!

My pond is covered with heavy duty mesh used for robotic guarding, it's called :
1 1/2" x 1 1/2" square PVC coated steel wire mesh
12 gauge thickness
comes in 4'x8' panels

I think we can safely say your pond is bear, cougar, bobcat, and MAYBE moose-proof! To go along with all the other critters that mesh is built for! Ah, you don't get moose, do ya???

:-P ;)

@Gemma is it easy to lift that stuff if you need to get in there ever?
It does look very nice and neat and you can easily see through it.
Your pond is gorgeous :beaming:

Aww thank you!Image
Yes the panels are stiff enough, and not too heavy so they can easily be removed even by little me
