This is very good for newcomers who need to know what plants etc they can add to their ponds.

seems to be more important/beneficial to those in the northern hemisphere; I had a hard time even getting maps of souther hemi countries! And what I got, as you can see, is zones with little variation!

Yep the cold is what kills a lot of plants we try to grow that might say in the stores that they are ok and then you take them home and nope killed off in the freeze. Gotta do some research on plants to see what others have said about them also in your area.
