you know I'm aiming to bust this myth, even if the scientific evidence is overwhelming, right? That said, I'd rather have more smaller koi than fewer larger ones...jus' sayin'!!

All your koi are gonna grow big, then what will you do? Give them away or build a bigger pond, w/a bigger bog? Would you be able to give or sell them away? Maybe you could build a 2nd pond............why not, you are almost ready to retire and what will you do w/all your free time? Maybe go into the business of raising and selling koi? Make some side money on something you like to do!

just an update as the chart has been debunked for accuracy; no data was found to corroborate these findings. The basic idea though is that koi put out waste exponentially, not linearly.
