yep, turned mine into one too, though they say to cut it down each fall. Sort of liked it a bit higher, so tree-ish it is. This year, lost one large chunk and it looks a bit off, but it grows pretty fast, so not really concerned. I think cutting it back might make it stronger (have you noticed how easy it is to break branches?) and may indeed cut it back end of summer this year.

Does your bloom? I don't think I noticed blooms until it was older (and larger, actually!).

Yep mine blooms every year as it pretty old and yes I do cut it down a lot and yes it does have tender branches in spots. I will post some blooms tomorrow as I'm on my laptop right now and no photos stored on it.

@brokensword Everything looks so good, you're doing a great job taking care of your garden the purple blooms in the seventh image, is that a Bellflower? I just got one this year, I wonder how I never knew the existence of this beautiful plant, I wonder how easy/hard to take care of it is

yes, a Carpathian Bellflower (I think!). There's quite a few varieties; I have another which hasn't bloomed yet. This type is weedy in that it'll put out seeds all over the place. The varmints like to eat them so I spray before they get to them, esp the flower stems. Rabbits, ground hogs, usual culprits. If you have one, no doubt you'll soon have many bellflowers. They seem to like to grow just find in shade, so more power to them, ya know!

My Columbine and Phlox also would spread seedlings everywhere if I didn't remove the seedpods before they mature
