Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)

Wife kept pulling back the liner during the last rain storms while I was at work and we got a water hippo now. Pretty depressed but Don’t have the time or heart to worry about it and will figure out when pond 3.0 comes down the line. Trying go large-small rocks but finding we have more big rocks tha...

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)

It’s alive. Now to tweak and build it pretty but…. bFSXEo6VZDQ What the hell do you do w this cloudy water? Rinsed my giant bag of pea stone a few times over the past week and still got it hecka muddy. The 3/4 and 1” I’m going to lay out and blast to mitigate dirt but what’s the strategy for the mud...

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)

Were the fittings you used DWV? I’ve done limited box store runs for pvc as after we talked and I fell down the sched 40 rabbit hole I swore I’d not use any DWV. There were other horror stories about using DWV and the slippage you mentioned w the pressure. I figure I’ll get the bug to redo it all an...

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)

Took the ball valve from the pond line and inserted it the only real place the size/bendability allowed. I am fine with it being buried and was able to get my hand down under the pea stone to twist still as needed so I’m personally good on leaving it. Ain’t wasting money and ordering parts to move i...

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)

I’m still very set on the pond vac after my incursion with the thousand year muck built at the bottom. Don’t plan/want to suck the algae, just corners where junk doesn’t belong. Anything further would probably more detrimental on the balance. But also - touché on the ball valve to bog. This pump has...

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)

The plan is to rock it all, mainly kind of boulders up the sides, and 3/4 inch Pebble Beach on the shelves in open spots. Saving up DuxBux for a pond vac as it will be very useful given lack of true skimmer box. I could tell this pawn had not been cleaned at all in 15 years, it was so mucky and mudd...

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)

More questions for the experienced. No way imma get it all done bing bang boom but where would you start now? Figured working bottom of pond upward? Flexpvc from the pump hole, then start bouldering the bottom upward? (Flex concealed behind behind the rocks). Mainly doing the deepest hole and sides?...

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)

I’ve been yelling back over my shoulder “Ok that’s good. ….. Thats good!…..I said that’s good, shut it off!” .3” my ass. (Wide collector or not, the street has a river flowing ) Welp that’s one way to find a low edge. Fearful of water under bleeping it all up but too late now. https://i.imgur.com/v8...

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)

Had some bassy 80s in the background giving me my sense of urgency.
Not seamed but finished some folds in the river where it’ll meet juuuuust as the storm rolled in. Two days of rain coming…..

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)

Racing the rain. Seaming held well when I was testing. Made a bowl for water which isn’t leaking so think I have the temp and speed right later.

Re: Pond Reconstruction Project (+ Bog)

Wife home. Wife jawing I should be filling the pond first so the liner “naturally folds correctly” and then i wade into the water to set the stones under water.
She tells me this is how it’s suggested on the Home Depot site.

I laughed but thoughts?
