Re: Okay, What Did I Miss?

Thanks for the explanation. I'm on my phone and the font is pretty small for these ancient eyes so all I saw was Christian! Haven't been here much lately since I'm daily digging out from the piles of garden bounty. Cooking and freezing and canning pretty much daily, in addition to the normal small f...

Okay, What Did I Miss?

Got a big surprise when I typed in Swordofshakespeare.com and was taken to a Christian home page.

What happened there and when and why?

Color me confused.

Re: Does anyone know this plant?

I don't water mine so much because I read that they will do fine if watered well their first year, but the won't come back the next. I also brought in well draining soil to plant them in, and I don't mulch them. I don't want anything around them that will hold water. So far, that seems to be working...

Re: Does anyone know this plant?

My Agastache plants are doing great. I planted a hedge of them in the garden bed in front of the house. They have gotten much larger than I expected and are crowding out the lavender plants that I planted in front of them. I'll have to move those out more. The plants seems to bloom continuously and ...

Re: from the last weekend in July

Third blooming of spider lilies? That's amazing! Mine are just putting on those big seeds and looking pretty droopy. I can't imagine they would ever bloom even twice.

Very pretty. Nothing looks as cheerful as flowers in bloom.

Re: Gemma's Greenhouse

Thanks for the reply, Gemma. Guess I need to get busy on my fall planting. Time gets away from me much too fast these days!

I didn't find the white ones. Maybe they are more fragile than the others. I'll get some pics soon.

Re: spider lily

Mine are just below the water level. I don't remember how deeply they are planted but I'm sure I found that info online somewhere. Looks like they are hardy to zone 7, but we are in 6. They never have ice near them so I can't say how they would do if that is an issue. The air temps in there are at l...

Re: spider lily

I sometimes have trouble finding them here when the time is right to put them out. So I started growing my own. I like doing that anyway and I just add those to the rest of the things I'm starting. Helps to keep me busy and out of most of the trouble I can find around here.
